This five-day tour of Western Bhutan covers the beautiful districts of Paro, Thimphu, Punakha and Wangduephodrang.

Short hikes, cultural sightseeing and historical tours are the main features of this trip. You will also come in touch with local communities and get to learn about Bhutan’s unique development philosophy of Gross National Happiness. Although short, this tour offers you glimpses of this Himalayan kingdom and you would certainly return home with hordes of incredible memories. 

Detailed Itinerary-

Day 1 (Arrival at paro): You are expected to arrive at Paro through the only flight to Bhutan, Druk Air. We assure you a unique travelling experience across Himalaya Mountains. On arrival Your local tour executive will receive you at Paro international air port and drive you to the capital of Bhutan, Thimphu. It is a pleasant drive of about an hour. Once in the capital, you will visit the Folk heritage museum, painting school, Changangkha Lhakhang, Motithang takin zoo and Kuensel Phodrang. In the evening you will visit Tashichhodzong, the seat of the Monarchy and later just take a stroll around town.

Day 2 (Thimphu to Punakha): After an early breakfast, you will head to Punakha, the old capital. On the way, there will be a stopover at Dochula pass from where you can see the majestic mountain ranges on a clear day. In Lobesa, you will walk through a quaint little village to a hillock where the famous temple of fertility is located. After lunch, you will visit the Punakha dzong or pungthang dewa chenpoi phodrang, the palace of Great happiness. It is located at the confluence of two rivers known as Pho chhu or male river and mo chhu or female river. In the evening, you will hike to Khamsum temple in Kabesa village.

Day 3 (Punakha to Wangdue to Paro): On your way back to paro, you will visit the historic Wangduephodrang dzong perched on a hill overlooking Punastahngchhu. You will also take a short hike to Matalungchu village and later drive back to Paro.

Day 4 (Tiger Nest Hike): The following morning, you will hike to the legendary Taktshang Monastery or The Tiger’s Nest. From Taktshang, perched on a precarious cliff, you will have a great view of the valley besides visiting the inner sanctum of one of the most sacred sites in the kingdom. After the hike, you will visit Paro Dzong and National Museum.

Day 5 (Exit): Our tour executive will bid you farewell at the Airport.
